Ambulance crews and the Fire and Rescue Service came to the islander’s help after an alert was raised early yesterday evening.

The Emergency Services teams used specialist rope equipment to reach the casualty.

He then received some medical treatment on the scene, before being lifted to safety and then taken to the hospital. 

Praising his team for their rescue efforts on Twitter, Chief Fire Officer Paul Brown commented: “Specialist kit, specialist skills, special people. Thank you @JsyFire @JsyAmbulance @JerseyPolice #teamwork”
