Under the plans, there would be four new shelters in the west of the island, and one in St. Helier.
The exact locations under consideration are:
-
Mont Nicolle W (3464), La Route des Genets, westbound, St. Brelade
-
Jersey Aeroclub (2325), L’Avenue de la Reine Elizabeth, eastbound, St. Peter
-
L’Hermitage S (2727) new bus stop and waiting shelter, La Route de Beaumont, southbound, outside the Co-op Locale Beaumont, St. Peter
-
York Farm (3846), La Route de la Haule, westbound, St. Peter
-
Abbotsmount (2539), St. John’s Road, southbound, St. Helier
Meanwhile, the Government is also planning on widening and lengthening the pedestrian plateau at the southbound Oxenford Close stop in St. Lawrence, while at Red Houses the plan is to create a new footpath next to Route Orange to connect the bus stop at a steadier gradient than the current steep ramp.
Islanders are being asked for their views on the plans, which can be found online here, and have until 14 November to have their say.
