It will be neither an alien, nor a signal of an imminent invasion, but the Fire Service testing their flares.
To avoid any confusion, Jersey Fire and Rescue say that the flares will be white in colour and only visible when they are dropping.
The tests will take place off of Jersey’s North Coast between 20:00 and 20:30.
However, anyone who spots a flare that doesn’t match the description should call Jersey Coastguard on 01534 447705.
