A Jersey football club is offering a £250 reward to identify vandals who “smashed up” its home and away dugouts, warning that “word gets around” in a small Island.
Jersey Wanderers FC CEO Mark Woodford said that the dugouts had been vandalised by unknown members of the public.
Taking to Facebook, Mr Woodford implored those responsible to come forward, before warning that, if they didn’t, the club “will be taking appropriate steps through the relevant channels”.

“Last night, some individuals decided to come back and smash up our dugouts,” he wrote.
“We’re a self-funding football club run entirely by volunteers. In a tough financial environment, we work hard for every pound we raise.
“Money spent repairing vandalism is money that should be going towards football for our teams across all age groups, not to mention the time it takes away from our volunteers can give to progress the club.”
He added that he would “genuinely like to speak directly” with the vandals, to “understand what they thought this achieved and encourage them to reflect on their actions”.
Addressing the people who destroyed the dug-outs directly, the Jerseyman said he would “call it quits” if they agreed to “own up”, “help us repair the damage” and “put some volunteer hours into the club”.
“If not,” he stated, “there’s £250 for information that identified those responsible.”
