Deputy Inna Gardiner, former Children’s and Education Minister, was voted into the role of President of the Scrutiny Liaison Committee this morning.

She saw off contest from Deputy Catherine Curtis by 25 votes to 16.

Pictured: Deputy Inna Gardiner was very active in scrutiny before taking a Ministerial role in Kristina Moore’s Government.

Deputy Gardiner, who was also recently elected Chair of the Public Accounts Committee, said that engaging with the public and seeking their input was important.

The Scrutiny Liaison Committee brings together the Chairs of the five standing Scrutiny Panels, alongside the Chair of the Public Accounts Committee.

As present, Deputy Gardiner will maintain oversight of the work of those Panels the Public Accounts Committee, and monitor Scrutiny expenditure.
