A former RAF serviceman is helping Jersey veterans access support as they navigate life after the Armed Forces – with help available throughout the year.
As the Island prepares to mark Remembrance Day on 11 November, ex-military personnel are being reminded they can turn to a dedicated liaison officer for help finding the right services.
Senior liaison officer Eddie Clark draws on his own experience of adjusting to civilian life to help others.
He joined the Royal Air Force at 16 and spent most of the 1990s serving in the RAF. After leaving the military, he spent several years finding his feet before settling in Jersey in 2007.
He joined the government’s Employment, Social Security and Housing Department in 2013 and now works in its Customer Experience Team.
While many people leave the Armed Forces without needing extra help, others may face challenges or need support at different stages of their lives.
Mr Clark can explain what help is available, talk people through their options, find the appropriate service or contact another organisation on their behalf.
The government stressed that the service operates throughout the year, not just around Remembrance Day.
Ex-military personnel can contact Mr Clark by emailing ESSHarmedforcessupport@gov.je or calling 07829 909990 during normal office hours.
