Cedric Joel Conord (32) was charged with two counts of drug smuggling after being stopped at Jersey Airport on 6 December 2018.
He appeared in Magistrate’s Court shortly after that, but Relief Magistrate David Le Cornu concluded the case was too serious for him to deal with and therefore decided to send it to the Royal Court.

Conord appeared in Royal Court on Friday and pleaded ‘guilty’ to two counts of “being knowingly concerned in the fraudulent evasion of the prohibition on the importation of a controlled drug”.
He was carrying £20,000 worth of cocaine and heroin – both of which are Class A substances.
He will be sentenced in front of the Superior Number – a panel that only assembles to pass sentence on the most serious of cases – on 8 May at 10:00.
Conord, who is represented by Advocate Francesca Pinel, has been remanded in custody until the sentencing.
