Jersey’s youngest rock stars went head-to-head in an electrifying showdown this week – all vying for the title of the island’s best teen band.
Eight under-18 groups lit up the stage at the Watersplash on Saturday night for this year’s Battle of the Bands, with metal band RIOT rocking to victory.
The band – made up of Jack (guitar), Owen (bass), Austin (drums) and Shay (vocals) – said they applied to the competition “to show people what we are made of”.

Now, the rising stars are set to take on an even bigger stage: they’ll be performing at this summer’s Weekender festival, sharing the lineup with music giants like Faithless and the Sugababes.
