Danny Lynch, Adrian’s father presented the award to Rhys Le Voguer to recognise his success in achieving the City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation.

Apprentice of the Year, Rhys works for Brady and Gallagher and has also completed the City and Guilds 2394 Initial Testing and Inspection course this year.  He is planning  to take some well-earned time out to travel before returning to the island to continue his career in the trade.

Danny Lynch, Adrian’s father, presented him the award and said: “Adrian really enjoyed his time at Highlands and I am proud that they have honoured his memory in this way”.

Another student’s hard work was recognised as Stephen Casey, who is also studying Electrical Installation, received the ESM Outstanding Achievement Award. Stephen works for Gordon Electrical Services and has been out of education for a while and is now close to completing his Level 3 Electrical qualification. He has also gained wider skills whilst attending college and is likely to continue with his training in the future.

Tony Tyrer, Director of Construction and Engineering at Highlands College commented on both awards saying: “These awards are well deserved and a reflection of the hard work of the students along with the dedication of our staff in providing high quality training to suit the needs of industry.”

Both students also received with tools and equipment from ESM Electrical Supplies & Machinery, who sponsors the awards.
