The two hotels will also be competing against other local establishments in an attempt to be crowned ‘Bake Off Champions’.
L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa Executive Chef Andrew Soddy said: “We’ve created a range of mouth watering morsels including carrot cakes, strawberry tartlets and mini lemon meringues and we hope to wow the judges with our fantastic flavours.”
But there is hot competition from Executive Chef Nicholas Valmanga who is hoping to take the title for Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa. He’s whipping up an array of elegant fancies including lavender madeleines, pistachio financiers and chocolate quake cakes.
The event starts at the Care Home at 2 pm with live music from ‘Les Haricots Verts.’ Guests will get to sample and judge the cakes before the La Haule Bake Off for Heroes Champion is announced.
