Despite the heat, more than six out of ten Island Walk participants who took on the main 48-mile trek made it across the finish line this year.
Express took a look at the key statistics from this year’s event…
Over 1,500 walkers registered for this year’s event, including those taking part in the 13-mile Lieutenant-Governor’s Challenge, the Relay and the One TMF Challenge.
Just over 1,000 islanders signed up for the main 48-mile trek, which saw a 63% completion rate.
Temperatures reached a sweltering 32.4°C – the the seventh hottest June day in Jersey since records began.

The first person to finish was Matt Johnson, with a time of eight hours and 48 minutes.
There were 21 walkers aged 16 and under who finished the main course.
The youngest participant to cross the finish line after tackling all 48 miles was just nine years old, while the oldest was 82.
There were 343 overseas participants registered across all of the walks – coming from Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Guernsey, Germany and the UK – and 162 of them finished.
Since the walk’s inception in 1991, more than £2 million has been raised for local charities.

Around the Island Walk Trust chairman Robert Syvret said: “We’re really hoping this year to break through the £3 million mark for the total amount raised over the 34 years.”
He added: “We are well on our way to raising £100,000 [with the 2025 event], but if anyone hasn’t sponsored a walker yet there is still a great opportunity for them to sponsor via our website.”
