A new inter-island ferry began sailings today after the start date was delayed by a week.

Islands Unlimited planned to launch its foot passenger service between Guernsey and Jersey at the end of May, but poor weather delayed crucial berthing trials in St Helier.

San Pawl – a 316-seat catamaran brought over from Malta – sailed into the Elizabeth Harbour this morning.

Islands Unlimited said it was “really excited” to commence its first passenger service.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to providing daily inter-island services,” the company said in a post on social media.

Islands Unlimited will run daily sailings through the summer.

Jersey ferry operator DFDS is yet to publish an inter-island timetable while Brittany Ferries runs one crossing per week between the islands.
