An investigation still “remains ongoing” more than a year after some products were taken away from a CBD store in town for testing, Express has learned.
In February last year, officers were seen entering the Bailiwick Botanicals shop on Queen Street, where they seized a number of items.
The Jersey Customs and Immigration Service subsequently confirmed that this was due to an investigation, while Bailiwick Botanicals stated at the time that Customs was “undertaking additional testing on a range of our products”.

Four months later, the CBD store announced the return of some items and said that it would keep customers informed “of any further developments”.
It also stated that it was “confident that the results will confirm their adherence to all local laws”.
Express recently asked Customs for an update and was told by a JCIS spokesperson that “the investigation remains ongoing”.
Speaking to Express, Bailiwick Botanicals director Gary Tucker said that, from the business’s perspective, the investigation essentially came to a close towards the end of last year – with almost all of the stock taken returned.
“At this stage now we have a great relationship with Customs in both islands,” he added.
“There is a process in place as far as bringing these products in – they know we are transparent with what we do.”
