Hundreds of islanders are gearing up for a 100km charity cycle challenge tomorrow – but for one participant, it will be his seventh time cycling the route in as many days…
Tony Stabler is cycling 100km every day this week to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support, spending over 30 hours in the saddle.
Each day, he has completed a lap of the Mac100 route taken taken by participants in the annual 100k charity cycle challenge for the cancer charity.
Tony will complete his seventh and final 100km ride tomorrow during this year’s Mac100 event, riding alongside hundreds of other participants.
Ahead of the challenge, he said: “Although the training has gone well, I’ll need all the support I can get to make it through this.
“Macmillan’s work means so much to so many – and every donation really does count.”
He has so far raised over £500 for the charity which supports cancer patients in Jersey.
Tony first completed the Mac100 challenge in 2022, and has sought to push further to raise money for the charity every year since.
In 2023, he completed two consecutive laps and last year he raised the bar to cycle three back-to-back laps.
