Islanders are being invited to explore updated proposals for the redevelopment of Fort Regent.

The Government of Jersey and the States of Jersey Development Company will present the plans at two public events later this month.

Islanders have helped shape the plans through an independent survey conducted in 2021, which gathered views from more than 2,500 people, and a second survey in 2025, which reached over 6,000 respondents.

Engagement has also included presentations to around 2,000 secondary school students, alongside workshops with young people and specialist user groups to ensure that a broad range of islanders could contribute ideas about how the iconic site should evolve.

The project team has also worked closely with heritage advisers, technical experts and planning officials to balance the preservation of the site’s historic character with modern needs.

Infrastructure Minister Andy Jehan said: “Our work on Fort Regent has been guided by a commitment to deliver a long‑term, financially sustainable community asset.

“The updated proposals balance heritage, leisure, culture and commercial uses in a way that will breathe new life into this strategic site.

“We look forward to presenting the plans and discussing them with islanders.”

States of Jersey Development Company chief executive Lee Henry added: “Fort Regent is an iconic part of Jersey’s landscape, and islanders have been clear about the role they want it to play in our community.

“These proposals reflect the voices of thousands of islanders, shaped over several years of engagement.

“I am pleased to share a vision that protects the Fort’s heritage while creating an accessible, vibrant destination for future generations.”

Islanders will be able to learn more about the proposals and speak directly with project leaders at two upcoming events.

A public presentation will take place at the Pomme d’Or Hotel on Tuesday 14 April from 5:30pm.

Attendees will hear from Constable Jehan and Mr Henry, who will explain how the plans have evolved and respond to community priorities.

A drop-in exhibition will take place in the St Helier Town Hall on Thursday 16 April (9am – 7pm) and Friday 17 April (9am – 3pm).

Visitors will be able to view detailed proposals and see how public feedback has directly influenced the design.
