Islanders and property professionals are being invited to share their experiences of buying and selling homes in Jersey.

It comes as part of a public consultation launched by Housing Minister Malcolm Ferey, which aims to examine the current property transaction process, what works well, where it becomes difficult and how improvements could be made.

As part of the consultation, islanders are also asked for their experiences of communications between buyers, sellers, lawyers, lenders and estate agents involved in the process.

Housing Minister Malcolm Ferey said: “Buying or selling a home is an important milestone in many people’s lives. While many people complete the process without difficulty, others face delays, unexpected costs or uncertainty, and some sales fall through.

“We want to hear directly from Islanders and the professionals involved in property transactions about their experiences while buying or selling a home in Jersey.

“Whether your experience was positive or negative, your views will help us better understand how the current process works in practice and identify opportunities for improvement.”

The consultation opened today and is running until Friday 18 December 2026.

Responses can be submitted through the online questionnaire or by sending responses by email or post.
