Each location was ranked according to the number of Michelin-starred restaurants and spas per 10 km2, and by the percentage of hotels with an indoor pool, hot tub and massage facilities, as well as the percentage of fine dining restaurants.
Out of 10 UK destinations, Jersey came out top with a ‘luxury destination score’ of 8.68 out of 10, leaving Stratford-upon-Avon in second place with a score of 7.11.
Key to Jersey’s success was its abundance of luxury hotels.

11% of all hotels in Jersey are five-star – more than any other location on the list.
Jersey also came in first place for fine dining, with 4% of all eateries providing a fine-dining experiences. The Michelin-starred Longueville Manor was singled out for particular praise.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Bath was found to be the destination with the most spas in the UK, with 9.5 spas per 10km2.

The highest ranked luxury destination in the world was Abu Dhabi, with 22% of all hotels offering a five-star service, followed closely by Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, where just under half (41%) of hotels have an in-room jacuzzi.
Paris was found to possess the most spas per 10km2 and the most Michelin starred restaurants in the entire world. There are 45 Michelin-starred restaurants and 87.64 spas per 10km2 in the City of Love.
