This year’s festival will also feature Jenny Lecoat whose memoir of her great-aunt Louisa Gould’s Occupation courage and sacrifice is currently being turned into a major film.
Once again there will be a full family-friendly programme for young readers and some top writers for young adults will be visiting including William Sutcliffe and Eugene Lambert, whose novel ‘The Sign of One’ has been hailed as the next ‘Hunger Games’.
Blogger Sarah Turner, known to hundreds of thousands of followers as ‘The Unmumsy Mum’ will be in the Island along with performance poet Jo Bell and best-selling historian Alison Weir.
A big campaign has been launched outside the Island to attract more festival-goers after the success of last year’s event that saw thousands enjoying the performances, readings, interviews, talks and workshops at the Jersey Opera House, the Jersey Arts Centre and Jersey Library.
The Jersey Literary Festival Association’s Chairman Jennifer Bridge said: “We were delighted with the response from both audiences and writers to last year’s inaugural festival. This year, we aim once again to offer a varied and inclusive programme, with something for everyone.
“It will celebrate the joy and importance of reading in all its forms in the setting of a beautiful island with a distinctive and inspiring heritage.”
