The Jersey Lifeboat Association was busy over the weekend supporting a 14‑mile community swim from Jersey to France, and completing two rescues.
The crew spent the early hours of Sunday morning providing support to the Jersey-France Challenge, a relay swim from La Coupe Bay to Carteret in aid of Dementia Jersey.
Upon arrival back to berth, the JLA was called out to assist a French vessel that had become entangled in rope near St Helier and required towing.
A local boat stood by while the Sir Max Aitken III arrived to assist, and the French ship was brought safely back to harbour.
As the JLA was completing the tow, a second call came in from a vessel experiencing electrical issues in Beauport.
The team made a “prompt turnaround”, and managed to resolve the fault on scene.
A JLA spokesperson said: “Thanks to the equipment we routinely carry onboard, including a jump pack, the vessel was soon safely on her way back to St Helier under her own power.”
