The Reds travelled to Leeds to face Yorkshire Carnegie brimming with confidence but the visitors had to settle for a losing bonus point after being beaten 16-12 at Headingley.

Jersey’s scores all came in the first half with Drew Locke and Nick Haining scoring tries. But the Reds couldn’t capitalise on a 12-11 half-time lead and in the second half, Yorkshire made good a counter from deep to score in the corner.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Cornish Pirates beat bottom-placed Plymouth Albion 27-16 while Bristol beat Bedford 38-14. Jersey remain 8th in the league with 38 points, five points behind seventh-placed Cornish Pirates but five points above ninth-placed Doncaster.
