The shop, run by Capi Duty Free Ports, will sell a range of liquor, drinks and tobacco.

Harbour master, captain Bill Sadler said: “I’m pleased that we have now had all the necessary permissions to be able to offer our ferry passengers the opportunity to buy duty free goods at the harbour.

“I hope travellers take advantage of the new service now that it is available.”

Passengers also have the option of pre-ordering their duty-free purchases online up to 30 days before they travel.

Managing director of Capi, Guus Jonge Poerink said: “We are honoured to operate our Capi store on this beautiful island and serve the visitors and citizens of Jersey with duty free products.
