Organisers say the show aims to give students a go at trying out different skills, to see demonstrations and speak directly with industry experts.
Those experts range from people who work in health and construction to hair and beauty and emergency services.
Lynne Haws, Head of Careers and Student Finance at Education, said: “The Jersey Skills Show is the only event that showcases skills and exciting opportunities from around the Island. This helps to bring industries to life for all attendees regardless of age or where they are in their career journey. We want those visiting to be inspired and gain insight into industries they had never previously thought of.”
Education Minister Rod Bryans added: “Last year the Jersey Skills Show proved its interactive formula works, bringing industry professionals, students and those wanting to explore different careers together in an engaging way. It provides a unique opportunity for students to appreciate the wide range of careers on offer and to speak directly to those who work in them. The growth in the diversity and numbers of exhibitors for this year’s show is evidence of its effectiveness.”
Entry to the show today is free and opening hours are 11:00 until 17:00.
