Liam Adrian White appeared in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
He was charged with theft and grave and criminal assault.
Relief Magistrate David Le Cornu ruled that the case was too serious for his court to deal with, and referred it to the Magistrate’s Court.
Mr White is now due to appear in the Royal Court on 19 September.
He has been released on bail in the meantime.
