Plans to make alterations to one of the La Rocco Apartments buildings have been lodged as work continues on the site more than a year after permission was granted to turn holiday apartments into residential units.
The planning application from Rocco 2 Ltd follows a previous approval given in 2024 to convert the two buildings at the site, which once provided dozens of units of visitor accommodation, to create 17 new homes.
In a letter accompanying the new plans, Ginny Duffell, of consultancy Duffell Planning, noted that “this permission has been implemented, and works are under way”.
She explained that the proposed changes related to ‘Building 2’ and its surrounding amenity space and parking.
“The previous approval granted permission for the creation of 10 units within Building 2,” the letter continued.
“This current application does not seek to alter this.”
Instead, the works proposed include roof and cladding alterations, the construction of a balcony, a new lift and the reconfiguration of the parking layout, cycle storage and shared amenity space, among other changes.
“None of these proposed works will dilute the quality of the previous approval,” Ms Duffell added.
“Rocco 2 will continue to deliver 10 well-designed units of accommodation which meet the requirements of the newly adopted residential space standards (November 2025).”
