The Comité des Connétables has issued their final reminder to islanders that 2024 licences should be purchased before the end of January.

Since the beginning of this year, more than 7,000 licences have been bought, but this leaves 2,000 still to be renewed before Wednesday.

The charge of £10 per dog increases to £20 from Thursday 1 February.

Doglicences.je was launched late last year, providing an online portal where the documents could be purchased.

There is no need to create an account or remember a password.

The website has taken over from the systems used by individual parishes, although paper applications will continue to be accepted.

Any person wishing to keep a dog over the age of six months must purchase a licence; there are exceptions for a dog trained to assist a blind or deaf person.
