Who should be Jersey’s next Chief Minister? Should we have GST on food? How will we cut government spending and sort the cost-of-living? Is Guernsey doing anything better than us?

As part of Bailiwick Podcasts’ Election Disassembled series, we’ve challenged election candidates to step away from the campaign trail and into our studio for a short, unfiltered conversation.

Every candidate was issued the same challenge: come into the studio, explain why Islanders should vote for you, then face a round of quick-fire questions from Editor Fiona Potigny on the issues readers told us matter most – from the cost-of-living and government spending to pensions, tax and even the best beach in Jersey.

Some candidates took up the challenge. Some didn’t.

With polling day approaching, the series offers voters a chance to hear directly from those seeking election – in their own words, without the noise of a hustings or campaign rally.
