A local charity was honoured at an international awards ceremony in Glasgow last month for its long-standing dedication to supporting families.
Brighter Futures was celebrated at the Mellow Parenting Awards on Friday 20 June.
The ceremony recognised the contributions of individuals and teams across social care, health, education, and the public and voluntary sectors across the world in delivering Mellow Parenting programmes.
These specialist group parenting programmes are designed to support families in building positive relationships with their children and improving overall wellbeing.
Brighter Futures was announced as the winner of the Long-Term Commitment Award, and the runner-up of the Sustainable Practice Award.

Margaret Bailey, Deputy Programme Manager at Brighter Futures, attended the ceremony in Glasgow to accept the award.
She was among the first staff members to be trained in the Mellow Programme back in 2010.
Mrs Bailey said the charity was “absolutely honoured” to receive the Long-Term Commitment Award.
“Since 2011, we’ve delivered the Mellow Parenting programme to hundreds of parents, and this award shines a light on the lasting impact of that work,” she said.
“This accolade celebrates over a decade of partnership with our colleagues at CAMHS and our shared commitment to supporting families.”
Mrs Bailey explained that the Mellow Parenting approach has always “resonated deeply” with the local charity.
“Its ethos fits perfectly with the heart of Brighter Futures: building relationships, promoting understanding, and offering a safe space where families feel heard and supported,” she said.
“Charities often work quietly in the background, so this moment of recognition means the world to us.”
Brighter Futures supports around 150 to 160 local families each week through its family centre.
