A local children’s charity has marked its centenary year with celebratory flower displays designed to “reflect the growth and potential” in young people.

Brightly, formerly known as Brig-y-Don Children’s Charity, supports islanders aged 25 and under who are supported by the Children’s Service or on the edge of care.

The charity is this year celebrating its 100th anniversary after being formed in 1925.

To mark the occasion, Brightly-themed flower displays are currently on show in Howard Davis Park and West Park.

The charity worked with the Parks & Gardens team to create the exhibits.

A Brightly spokesperson said: “Their creativity and dedication have filled the park with colour and joy – a beautiful tribute that reflects the growth and potential in every child and young person Brightly supports.

“Brightly is truly grateful for their hard work in making the parks a place of beauty and remembrance.”
