The local volunteers who have been celebrated are from both the Operations team and the Lifeboat Guild, the fundraising arm of RNLI Jersey.

Nigel Sweeny, Lifeboat Operations Manager for RNLI Jersey, was recognised for his 40 years of service and commented: β€œIt is a tremendous privilege to serve the RNLI with this team. That so many of our volunteers have dedicated so many years to serving this charity is humbling but it shows the passion that we all have for the RNLI. Β

β€œI would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who support our volunteers. For every RNLI Jersey volunteer, there is a network of people, from family and friends to employers, who allow our team to invest the time required to make RNLI Jersey work. Their support allows the crews to go to sea, and the fundraisers to organise events, and their understanding and patience with the commitment involved is right at the heart of RNLI Jersey.”
