The incident happened at around 8.30 pm on Thursday evening.
The victim was walking past Robert’s Garage on the coast road when he was approached by another man, who punched him in the face.
His attacker, who was 5’4” tall and of a slim build with short dark hair and wearing a yellow jumper, then threatened him with a metal baton before leaving the area.
The victim went to the garage, but the attacker came back with another man in a burgundy car – thought to be a Ford Fiesta – and was abusive to the victim again before leaving.
