Wilfred Stanley Morrish admitted guilt to nine counts of indecent assault, and three related to “acts of gross indecency.”
He pleaded not guilty to another eight charges, which the Prosecution – represented in Royal Court on Friday by Crown Advocate Richard Pedley – allowed to remain on file. The Bailiff, Sir William Bailhache, explained that this means that if the Crown wants to prosecute the charges in the future, they will have to seek permission from the Royal Court to do so.
The Bailiff said that “given the gravity of the offences”, Mr Morrish, who was represented by Advocate James Bell, should be remanded in custody.
He will be sentenced by the Superior number, which only sits for the most serious offences, and can impose sentences of four years or more, on 25 June.
Mr Morrish has also been added to the Sex Offenders’ Register.
