Decia Gomes De Jesus (38), who co-owns Ginger, appeared before in the Magistrate’s Court this morning (Tuesday 27 July).

De Jesus, who was represented by Advocate Olaf Blakeley, admitted contravening a workplace order introduced in response to the pandemic by failing to wear a mask or visor while serving food to the members of the public between 25 January and 15 March this year.

She also admitted failing to comply with an ‘Improvement Notice’ issued by the covid enforcement team between 10 February and 15 March.

De Jesus initially denied both charges in June, and the case was adjourned. However, she changed her pleas today.
