Deputy Green – who is expected to stand for Senator at tonight’s nomination meeting at the Town Hall – has successfully campaigned for a law to be introduced on the island making it compulsory for child cyclists to wear helmets.
He has now been re-elected as chairman of the UK charity Headway, after serving in the position since 2009.
Deputy Green said: “I am passionate about raising awareness of brain injury and helping those affected.
“My family and I know only too well how devastating a brain injury can be; my own son, Christopher, sustained a brain injury 26 years ago when aged just nine. In that moment, all our lives changed forever.
“As a family, we benefited from the support provided by Headway – both on a local and UK level. The work the charity does to help families and individuals not just cope with brain injury but also to rebuild their lives is inspiring.
“I am honoured to be associated with the charity and hugely proud to have been re-elected to serve for another year.”
