However, Jersey Airport officials said this morning that they had been “advised that remaining BA flights for today are due to operates as schedule” and all other flights are due to operate as planned.

“Therefore, unless advised otherwise by the airline, passengers should check-in as planned, leaving themselves plenty of time for their journey through the airport as once again another busy day expected at the end of the half-term holiday,” a spokesperson said.

On Friday night, the airline’s website and app went down, and an inbound flight from London to Heathrow was heavily delayed.

129 passengers on the BA2775 flight were left on the tarmac for more than an hour and Jersey Airport opened late to accommodate the aircraft, which eventually touched down at 23:48.

Disruption in Jersey continued yesterday, with scores of BA flights cancelled.

Among those to be affected were the Jersey Bulls, whose home league match against Balham had to be cancelled as a result.

A BA charter flight from Grenoble was also rescheduled from yesterday as a result of the disruption and is due to arrive in Jersey around 13:30 today.

While there have been warnings that Russian hackers may target critical national infrastructure following the invasion of Ukraine, British Airways said their problems were the result of a hardware failure, rather than a cyber attack.
