Three-year-old Clinton Pringle, who was on holiday in the Island at the time, died from his injuries after being involved in a collision with a car in June.

The accident happened on Tunnell street, which is on the southern side of the Millennium Town Park.

A campaign has been started to improve road safety in the area and a number of reports have been commissioned.

A small memorial has sprung up to remember Clinton – t-shirts, some with handwritten messages on, are attached to the park’s railings, and flowers and stuffed toys spill on to the pavement.

The vigil’s organiser Nicola McAteer, says she staged the event so Clinton’s parents would know people were thinking about them in the run-up to Christmas.
