According to the Ministerial Decision, this will enable Jersey Property Holdings to “provide consistent and effective management of the transferred properties to retain their value and safety standards”.

It will also allow the body, founded in 2005 to serve as landlord for the States, to provide a “complete corporate holistic overview of the Government estate”.
The report explained the decision had been set out in the Island Public Estate Strategy 2021-35, which puts forward “the framework for the management and development of current and future Government of Jersey assets, providing an assessment of existing assets and defines the vision, aims and objectives for the Estates Strategy in the context of the current economic and financial environment, while balancing future needs and aspirations of the island”.
The sites which are now managed by Jersey Property Holdings include the Fire and Rescue Headquarters in Rouge Boullion, Western Fire Station at Les Quennevais, the properties managed by the Prison Service, and the six Jersey Field Squadron Royal Engineers sites across the island.
