Jersey’s next Comptroller and Auditor General will take up the post at the start of next year, if a proposition lodged by the Chief Minister is approved by politicians.

Deputy Lyndon Farnham has proposed the appointment of Paul Dossett following a recruitment process overseen by the Jersey Appointments Commission.

Mr Dossett is currently a partner and Head of Public Sector Assurance for Grant Thornton in London and the South East, where he specialises in public sector audit and assurance.

If approved by the States Assembly, he will be appointed for a seven-year term with effect from 1 January 2027.

The proposal has been brought forward ahead of the end of the current Comptroller and Auditor General’s term.

Lynn Pamment CBE is due to complete her seven-year fixed term on 31 December 2026.

The island’s Comptroller and Auditor General is responsible for auditing public finances and providing independent scrutiny of public spending and value for money.
