The role is one that has become particularly prominent in light of the challenges of Brexit and the pandemic, involving supporting, promoting and lobbying Government on behalf of a 200-strong membership of hotels, cafés, restaurants, bars, pubs and tourist attractions.
Ms Boscq will be taking over from Simon Soar, who will be leaving the JHA after four years to pursue a new role as Head of Hospitality and Tourism at Jersey Business.

Originally from France, Ms Boscq moved to Jersey in 2000. She ran the St. Brelade’s Bay Hotel, before going on to open the refurbished Royal Yacht, and working at the L’Horizon.
In 2009, she launched her own venture, ‘The Busy Queen Bee’, a mystery shopping company that advises businesses on improving their customer service.
The JHA said Ms Boscq was appointed following a “competitive selection process.”
JHA Chair Tim Hubert elaborated: “When we started the process of searching for Simon’s successor, we knew that whoever would be successful would have to be prepared to enter a tough environment. Claire has had decades of experience, starting off in our industry and then moving into advising businesses around the world on how to get the best from their employees so that their customers keep coming back for more.
“That added insight into the business world is just what the JHA needs as we move through the challenging times we’ve had and into what will become a successful period once again for the hospitality sector.”
“I know that Claire will rise to this challenge, and I am looking forward to working with her when she starts her new role.”
