The challenge – which was braved by over 150 sea swimmers this year – invited islanders to take a dip in 12 bays throughout the whole month of December.

It follows the successful ’30 Bays in 30 Days’ event in the summer which was inspired by an idea dreamt up by two families in Guernsey, the Marley and Sealey families, who are all keen sea swimmers.

The emphasis is also for people to take part in the challenge within in their own limitations so there is no target time, distance or number of strokes to swim.

Each bay in the December challenge was also given a festive-themed name, including ‘Port let it Snow’ and ‘Jingle all the Ouaisné’.
