While some islanders took to social media to complain of delays in receiving the boxes they had ordered last week, one islander sparked surprise when she shared that she had received 15 – despite requesting just three.

One couple ordered two and received five, while a mum reported coming home to nine on her doorstep.

When Express asked about the source of the problem, a Government of Jersey spokesperson explained: Due to a temporary IT issue, a small number of orders on the 4th February were duplicated. The issue has now been corrected.”

They added that “Jersey Post are working to recover the excess kits that have been incorrectly delivered.”

Any islanders who have now have unwanted and unopened boxes of LFTs are now being encouraged to return them.

They can “call the helpline or drop them off at the Airport drive-through.”

The helpline number is 0800 735 5566.
