Jersey Opera House has made two new appointments to its board.
Cassidy Mason and Vijay Khakhria have been appointed as non-executive directors for an initial three-year term.
It comes at a pivotal time for the venue, which is gearing up to reopen in the autumn after a five-year closure and £12.7m government-funded renovation.
Ms Mason and Mr Khakhria join former Chief Minister Kristina Moore on the Opera House board, bringing experience in a variety of sectors including finance, hospitality, entertainment, and governance.
Laura Robertson was appointed as interim chair of the 125-year-old venue in June following several high level departures.
Interim chair Dave Chalk and interim director Andy Eagle both resigned in April, just weeks before the venue was due to partially reopen for Liberation Day.
Cyril Whelan stepped down last month after 13 years on the board and less than eight weeks as interim chair, and non-executive director Bruno Santos-Costa become the fourth individual in three months to step away from a senior role just one week later.
The Opera House is also currently advertising for a new CEO – with an annual salary of up to £90,000 available for the successful candidate.
Ms Robertson said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Cassidy and Vijay to join the board of Jersey Opera House Limited.
“Their expertise and passion for the arts will be invaluable in guiding the charity forward as we work towards reopening and make an exciting step forward in our governance and strategic planning.”
