Jersey’s Facebook population erupted in both shock and laughter when a picture of a silver mobility scooter featuring a Rolls Royce sticker appeared on ‘Jersey Parking Fails’.

It had parked on a yellow line in the Gorey area, and had accordingly been served a yellow parking notice.

But Parking Control, which falls under the Department for Infrastructure’s umbrella, said it had nothing to do with them, and was the likely work of a prankster.

Kevin Boléat, Assistant Manager of the parking authority, told Express: “I think this was put on the vehicle by the owner or a member of the public as a joke, as we would not issue to a vehicle of this type as it is not registered (J plate) to drive on the road.

“The only vehicles we issue to are vehicles with registration plates, [and] the type of vehicle has no bearing on the penalty.”
