It adds to the Scottish airline’s existing commitment to operate a direct service to Edinburgh this summer. Loganair says it will also be operating services to Teesside and Norwich.
Islanders will also be able to fly to the Isle of Man via Southampton with a partnership between Loganair and Blue Islands – both of which swept up a number of routes operated by Flybe following its collapse due to the pandemic – from 26 May.
Over summer and autumn last year, the Isle of Man operated a successful ‘air bridge’ with Guernsey, allowing people to travel between the jurisdictions without isolating, due to the lack of covid-19 cases in either island.

However, it was suspended following an outbreak of seven cases in the Isle of Man in October.
Welcoming news of the new direct link with Jersey, Ports of Jersey CEO Matt Thomas said: “This is another great example of Loganair’s increasing commitment to Jersey and one that I’m sure will be welcomed by both residents and visitors alike.
“We are pleased to be announcing another new route for this summer, which given the challenging times the aviation industry is experiencing, is a testimony to the hard work of our route development team.”

Economic Development Minister Senator Lyndon Farnham added that he was “heartened” by the news, adding that he wished to “congratulate everyone involved in helping to secure this new route, which adds to our network of services available to passengers this summer.”
