A greenhouse and shed will be demolished to make way for an assisted-living bungalow in the north of St Helier, if a planning application is approved.
The application by Macob Developments outlines proposals for a two-bedroom home on a site which sits adjacent to Route du Petit Clos, near Grande Route de la Trinité.
A previous application for the site was refused by the Planning Committee.
But Jersey Homes Trust has expressed its “strong support” for this fresh application, and said it plans to add the property to its portfolio if it is approved.
In a letter of support, the not-for-profit housing association wrote that the project “aligns perfectly with the growing need for accessible and supportive housing options in our community”.

“Many residents, particularly older adults and individuals with disabilities, struggle to find suitable accommodation that allows them to maintain their independence while receiving the assistance they require,” the letter read.
A bungalow would foster “a sense of dignity and empowers residents to live as independently as possible”, according to the letter.
Socrates Architects said “substantial” alterations had been made to the original proposal which they argued now made the new application “fully compliant” with the Bridging Island Plan.
The architecture firm described the proposal as a “modest” one which would deliver a “valuable assisted-living unit to support the urgent needs identified by the Jersey Homes Trust”.
The building has been lowered as part of changes aiming to get the plans over the line.
