A now-defunct indoor swimming pool at Les Ormes could be repurposed into a five-bedroom self-catering apartment, and four health and beauty treatment rooms – if plans are given the green light.
The Bosdet Foundation, a charitable trust funded by Les Ormes Golf & Leisure Village, has submitted an application to transform the facility which closed in November due to a “significant leak” and swimming instructor staff shortages.
Built in 2007, the pool will be “retained and upgraded” rather than demolished, according to the application.
Plans include improved insulation, new cladding, and a shift from air conditioning to natural ventilation.
The proposed apartment will accommodate both multi-family groups and corporate guests.
It will feature an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, five en-suite bedrooms, and a private landscaped garden with screening from the adjacent golf course.
The application also outlines an extension to the existing office suite and the addition of four health and beauty treatment rooms.
