It is intended that protocols will be shared with the industry by the end of the week to prepare premises and practises to new procedures before the reopening on Monday 1 June.
However, as Deputy David Johnson highlighted, this will only leave one working day for practices to prepare ahead of the reopening, while a “considerable number of patients are currently suffering from the current breakdown”.

Deputy Renouf repeated that his department will intend to have the guidance ready by the end of the week.
He described the drafting as complex due to the risks involved in dental surgery and told States Members “good precautionary hygiene measures” need to be decided.
He added that Jersey is “leading the way” as dental practices remain closed in the UK.
