The team who run a popular Jersey wedding venue have moved to reassure islanders that all future events will go ahead as planned – despite confirmation that the historic hotel has been put up for sale.

After it emerged last week that Château La Chaire in Rozel was on the market for £4.5m, couples with future weddings booked at the venue raised concerns that their special days would be in jeopardy.

The property is listed for sale as a hotel or private residence, with estate agent Broadlands confirming that “the vendor is currently in the process of applying for an application to return the property back into a residential property”.

In response to concerns raised on social media, the hotel’s team issued a statement to confirm that business is continuing as normal.

All events and wedding contracts remain in place and nothing has changed

“We would like to assure all clients that the Chateau is not closing for business,” the statement said.

“Please rest assured that all events and wedding contracts remain in place and nothing has changed.

“We are continuing to trade as normal and are currently marketing and looking ahead to next summer and beyond.”

The venue confirmed it is actively trading, taking bookings, and planning ahead.

Château La Chaire’s team added that there is a “large number of couples” with weddings booked in 2026 and 2027, and confirmed that everyone would be contacted individually.

Express asked the hotel’s team to confirm it was a contractual requirement for the buyer to honour and fulfil all existing bookings, or if the hotel would provide refunds if the buyer decided not to.

Château La Chaire had not responded to these queries at the time of writing.
