Jersey’s largest political party is inviting islanders to help shape its next election manifesto at a drop-in session this weekend.
Reform Jersey is hosting the event on Saturday 21 February from 12pm to 2pm at the Old Magistrate’s Court, which is located on the ground floor of the St Helier Town Hall.
The political party says the session will allow members of the public to share ideas and prioritise ahead of the upcoming election, as it begins work on its policy platform for the next four years.
Party leader and Housing Minister Sam Mézec said: “As a grassroots party that believes in democracy from the ground up, we are pleased to invite the public to come and share their ideas with us for what should be in our next manifesto.”

Deputy Mézec explained that the party publishes a comprehensive manifesto ahead of the election so voters are clear on what they can expect if Reform candidates are elected.
He said: “It serves as our contract with the public and becomes the blueprint for our work as States Members.
“Many of the key pledges we made in our last manifesto have become government policy, including passing a new renters’ rights law, expanding cheaper access to primary healthcare and introducing free childcare for two-to-three-year-olds.
“Our next manifesto must address the issues that islanders tell us should be a priority, so we can continue to serve the public effectively for the next four years.
“This is exactly how local democracy is meant to work. Politicians working directly with the public, not having their policies written for them by consultants behind closed doors.”
Islanders who are thinking of standing for election and want to find out how they can become part of the Reform Jersey team are also invited to the event.
