Peter Philip Whitehouse (56) – who retired from the States of Jersey Police in 2009 – faces one count of taking an indecent photograph of a child, an offence under the Protection of Children (Jersey) Law 1994.
Mr Whitehouse was a Youth Affairs Officer at the police, and was involved in the “Prison! Me! No Way!!” team.
In the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, police legal adviser Advocate Matthew Maletroit, said that the prosecution needed an extended period for the committal as there were a large number of devices to be checked.
Mr Whitehouse – who is being represented by Baker and Partners – was remanded in custody until 18 June.
