She said: “I was very touched by the beautiful and lovely tribute to the people who died during their service for all of us. Lest we forget!
“I was so touched by it I decided to try and recreate it for the Red Houses post box topper here in Jersey.”

She continued: “I was very happy when I went and checked on it after Storm Ciaran, expecting it to have blown away as it is very heavy with actually shoes inside the knitting to create the shape. It amazingly survived!
“As you can see from the before and after photos the only damage was one of the ties broke and one of the poppies came loose at the back.”
